Helping the Elderly of our Community

I have been helping with Meals On Wheels deliveries for several years now but am finding that with the COVID 19 quarantine recommendations, I am thoroughly enjoying the routine of helping "clients" two or three days a week. In place of the actual food deliveries like we helped with before this pandemic, we are now making welfare phone calls to the recipients and reporting any problems or issues back to the Visiting Nurses association (VNA). In my opinion, Meals on Wheels is an incredible charity run by a very compassionate and friendly staff and is doing a great service for the elderly in our community. They qualify all recipients and each client I have worked with has been very deserving and thankful for the assistance they receive. My modest bit of help usually only takes less than an hour a day and is very uplifting for me. Anyone who would like to look in to getting involved can find out details by calling the Meals On Wheels office at 214-689-2639. I know they would appreciate any help they can get!
