In November 2017, voters approved $20 million in general obligation bonds for a new public library. The project will replace the current buillding with a facility designed to meet current and future needs, based on Texas Public Library Standards. The new library will provide for technological enhancements, flexible program space, and community meeting rooms that are not feasible in the existing structure.
The new library will be located adjacent to a new signature park with features and amenities for residents and visitors.

Has a site for the new library been recommended by the committee? What are the plans for the old library building when the new library is completed?

Thank you for your question. The committee recommended a site for the new library, and we are currently in negotiations to acquire the site. The new site will be announced once the City closes on the property.
Plans have not been made for the future of the current library building.
