Share Hello, me again! We thoroughly enjoyed the new park yesterday, however as I spoke to some neighbors and fellow community members, we all have one concern. Compared to many other parks across the city, as well as the old playground here at Kingswood Park, the new shade structure has left many visitors disappointed. I have already heard parents complaining that the equipment is too hot for use during the day time, and they wish that the shade canopy was much larger. It would be interesting to see the plans and decision making process that went into choosing this particular set up. My question is this: is there an approximate cost that could be provided for an improved shade structure, and how would a community go about raising the money to pay for it and have it installed? on Facebook Share Hello, me again! Aderr02 asked almost 4 years agoThank you for your question; we're glad you made it out to check out the new playground! This option was chosen by community members at a public input meeting for the project. A larger shade canopy would likely cost somewhere between $20,000 and $70,000 depending on the footprint to cover.
